This check list is in the following categories:
These are things to do before you get too involved in the details of wedding planning. This checklist will get you started thinking about ideas. Save it to "My Checklists" and add your own wedding planning things-to-remember.
-
Call your local courthouse for marriage license application requirements
-
Choose a date for the ceremony
Consider the typical weather conditions if you plan to have any activities outdoors.
-
Develop a budget for the wedding, reception, and honeymoon
This is one of the most important steps in pre-wedding planning. It should be flexible, but you need to know your limits and avoid debt as much as possible.
-
Call to schedule the minister, priest, judge, or other qualified to conduct a wedding ceremony.
This also needs to be taken care of well ahead of time.
-
Call to reserve a location for the ceremony and reception.
This should be done well ahead of time because reserved locations fill up fast. Don't forget to ask about price, parking availability, set-up and tear-down requirements, amenities, special rules, etc.
-
Find a photographer who is available on the date you have chosen.
It is best to ask others for recommendations. The photographer can make your day or cause real heartache. In your pre-wedding planning, think carefully about how important the photos are to you and your new spouse, and
how much you want to spend on this part of the wedding.
